Amorepacific Museum of Art Reveals Its 2026 Exhibition Program, From Korean Visionaries to Jonas Wood’s Asian Debut
Seoul’s Amorepacific Museum of Art sets the tone for 2026 with a confident, globally minded exhibition program that bridges Korean contemporary art and international heavyweights. The year unfolds with two major exhibitions, positioning APMA as a key cultural player at the intersection of art, design, and visual culture in Asia.
Opening in April, APMA, Chapter Five – From the APMA Collection offers an expansive survey of the museum’s contemporary holdings, with a sharp focus on the trajectories that have shaped Korean contemporary art alongside global perspectives. Featuring around 50 works by more than 40 artists, the exhibition spans painting, photography, sculpture, and installation, bringing together names such as Nam June Paik, Lee Bul, Lee Ufan, Koo Bohnchang, alongside international figures including David Hockney, Rose Wylie, Kiki Smith, and Gala Porras-Kim. The exhibition reads as both a collection highlight and a cultural map, tracing how local and global narratives intersect inside APMA’s walls.
In September, the museum shifts gears with the first institutional solo exhibition in Asia of Los Angeles–based artist Jonas Wood. Known for his saturated color palette, flattened perspectives, and psychologically charged interiors, Wood transforms everyday spaces, personal archives, and found imagery into immersive compositions. The exhibition will present approximately fifty paintings and thirty works on paper, spanning over two decades and offering Asian audiences a rare, in-depth look at one of the most influential painters of his generation.

Together, these exhibitions underline APMA’s commitment to presenting contemporary art as a living, evolving dialogue. Accompanied by public programs and on-site activations to be announced throughout the year, the 2026 program positions the museum as a destination not just for exhibitions, but for cultural exchange and discovery.
