This Privacy Policy explains how Design Pressroom collects, uses and protects personal data. Design Pressroom is operated by Bits of Brand, obrt za marketing i komunikacije, Pleš 70e, 42253 Bednja, Croatia (“Design Pressroom”, “we”, “us”). For privacy enquiries, contact mirna@bitsofbrand.com.
1. Data we collect
We may collect account information such as your name, email address, username and password; information included in press releases and brand profiles; correspondence sent through our forms or email; and technical information such as IP address, browser type, device information, cookie identifiers and website usage data.
Press releases, brand names, contact details, images and other materials submitted for publication are intended to become publicly accessible. Please do not submit private personal information that is not necessary for publication.
2. Accounts and registration
To create an account and submit or manage a press release, you must provide the registration information marked as required, which may include a username, email address and password. You may also provide optional information such as your name, brand or company name, website and contact details.
Passwords are handled by WordPress in a protected, one-way hashed form. Design Pressroom does not have access to your password in plain text. Please use a unique password and keep your login details confidential.
We use account data to create and administer your account, authenticate you, enable you to submit, edit and manage press releases, communicate with you about your account or submissions, prevent misuse and protect the security of the service. The main legal basis is Article 6(1)(b) GDPR (taking steps at your request and performing our agreement with you). We may also rely on Article 6(1)(f) GDPR for fraud prevention, service security and the establishment, exercise or defence of legal claims.
If you do not provide the required registration information, we cannot create your account or accept and manage your submission through the platform.
Your login credentials, account administration data and internal service records are private and are not displayed publicly. Information that you intentionally include in a published press release, media kit or public contact field may be publicly visible and may be indexed by search engines. Please do not submit personal data that is not necessary for publication.
We use service providers that support account and submission functionality, including Hostinger (hosting and infrastructure), WordPress (content and account management software) and Directorist (directory and submission functionality). Depending on how these services are provided, they act as our processors, sub-processors or software providers and may process technical, account and submission data only as needed to provide and secure the service.
Your account data is generally retained while your account is active. If you request account closure, we aim to delete or anonymise account data within 90 days, unless a longer period is necessary for legal obligations, dispute resolution, fraud prevention or security. Limited information may remain for a longer period in protected backups and security logs until those records are overwritten in the ordinary course.
You may request access to, export of, correction of or deletion of your account data, or ask us to close your account, by emailing mirna@bitsofbrand.com. Deleting an account does not automatically require removal of a lawfully published press release; you may separately request removal or anonymisation of public submission content.
Creating an account or submitting a release requires acknowledgement of our Terms of Use & Submissions and this Privacy Policy. Any newsletter or promotional email subscription is separate, optional and based on your consent. Refusing or withdrawing marketing consent does not affect your ability to create an account or submit a release.
3. Why we process personal data
- To create and manage user accounts and submissions.
- To review, publish, organise and display press releases.
- To communicate about submissions, enquiries, moderation and service changes.
- To maintain security, prevent abuse and troubleshoot the website.
- To understand website performance and improve the service, where consent is required and obtained.
- To comply with legal obligations and establish or defend legal claims.
4. Legal bases
Depending on the activity, we rely on performance of a contract or steps requested before entering a contract, legitimate interests in operating and protecting the service, compliance with legal obligations, and consent for optional analytics, marketing communications or non-essential cookies. You may withdraw consent at any time without affecting earlier lawful processing.
5. Public submissions
Published press releases and associated media may be viewed, indexed, quoted and linked to by journalists, search engines and other internet users. Removing content from Design Pressroom cannot guarantee its removal from search-engine caches, archives or third-party copies.
6. Service providers and recipients
We use providers that support website hosting, WordPress functionality, directory and account features, security, analytics, email and technical maintenance. These may include Hostinger, WordPress and relevant plugin providers, and Google services where enabled. We share only the information reasonably necessary for them to provide their services or where required by law.
7. International transfers
Some providers may process data outside the European Economic Area. Where required, we rely on an adequacy decision, approved contractual safeguards or another lawful transfer mechanism.
8. Retention
Account information is normally kept while an account remains active and for a reasonable period afterwards for administration, security and legal purposes. Published submissions may remain online until removed by us or following a valid request. Enquiries are retained only as long as needed to respond and maintain appropriate business records. Security logs and backups may be retained for limited operational periods.
9. Your rights
Subject to applicable law, you may request access, correction, deletion, restriction, portability or objection to processing. You may also withdraw consent. Send requests to mirna@bitsofbrand.com. We may need to verify your identity.
You may lodge a complaint with the Croatian Personal Data Protection Agency (AZOP), azop.hr, or another competent supervisory authority.
10. Security
We use reasonable technical and organisational safeguards, but no internet service can guarantee absolute security. Users are responsible for protecting their account credentials.
11. Children
Design Pressroom is intended for professional and business use and is not directed to children.
12. Changes
We may update this policy when the service or applicable requirements change. The current version and update date will remain available on this page.
